A Sad Day

Today is the day Minecraft Beta 1.4 came out, and it was suprisingly quiet on the server today D:, especially in the evening.

On the other hand though, I built a very very long tunnel today. It starts about 20 blocks from my main base’s entrance and it ends in the center of the map. It’s very useful for quickly traveling from my base to the center of the map, especially when it’s night. I used gravel and dirt to cover the holes in order to remain stealthy. Probably won’t need it though since I was all alone on the server today.

I did a lot of harvests from my sugar cane and wheat farms today and now I have about 20 stacks ofsugar canes, partly crafted into papyrus / paper (don’t know the exact name). That’s a lot!! Also having about 5 stacks of wheat and 4 stacks of seeds. I also constructed a tree farm. Now I don’t have to climb my ladder all the way up in order to get wood.

One pretty funny event today occured though. A player asked me if he could live with me. At First I refused but then I decided to give him some fake coordinates far away. He is definitely not a noob but I don’t trust him at all. I am excited to play the 1.4 version, as the server isn’t updated yet. More to come.

A quick update

The last two days on the server were pretty boring. There weren’t really a lot of people joining I could mess with. I did quite some work on my inventory and my base though, AND tried to kill the admin with a bone. He powned me with his diamond sword. I constructed a monster spawner which is now up and running. It’s not that big though (30x30) and I still need to clear the caves above it. I constructed a new farm is well. It’s about the same size and design as the previous one. I also did a lot of mining and scouting. My inventory includes now:

  • 45 diamonds.
  • 6 stacks of iron. (still need to melt two stacks)
  • 25 leather.
  • 2 stacks of bricks.
  • 20 arrows.
  • 32 flint.
  • 40 feathers.
  • A chest full of bread and porkchops.
  • A LOT of other stuff I will not bother you with because it’s boring ;-)

Exploring new land and griefing bases

Upon  joining the Lenia server today the first thing I noticed was a big base at the very river my house was at. I noticed large parts of it were made out of wood, so I crafted a flint and steel and lit large parts of it on fire. There were one or two items in his chest that interested me.

Later somebody who has just logged in started freaking out. It was apparent the maker of the house was aware of the situation. I just pretended it wasn’t me, but he started throwing (random, apparently? Accusations at me and the other guy. Later he let it go.

The other guy, whose nickname was ‘monkeyman’ and three digits at the end I don’t remember, showed me his house. This one was smaller, but it was badly hidden as well and he had his chest in the open too. I didn’t feel like griefing this house. It was much further away and he was very nice to me. I traded a few iron and golden ingots for some food and logs with him (I’m the mining kind of guy) and I left him alone. I expanded my base with a farm and a secret room with my chests in it and found more diamonds in my base. (Yesterday I already found four.)

One time I went outside of my waterbase I noticed no less than four guys building a base right in MY river, only a few blocks away from my entrance. I wasn’t really comfortable with having a base so close to the spawn point anymore anyway, so I decided to rescue it. I took all of the important stuff (which was a lot, I could barely carry it) and walked about 500 blocks away. Meanwhile I stumbled upon some clay which I took with me as well.

I designed a second submarine base and put all my stuff there.

I then went back and sneaked up on the enemy’s base. I lit a small part of their floor, but they managed to extinguish the fire. I stole some cactus, but noticed one of the builders following me. I kept running away and he gave up.

I then returned, had a talk with them. One of them tried to come near me and I lit the ground one fire. He didn’t have much health becaus he died from the fire in which was almost an instant. We continued talking though, and we agreed on a no attack policy. I took one of them with me. I showed him the base I had already left. It still had a working farm though. My guest was impressed. I was allowed in their base which I previously tried to burn.

I was in doubt now. Should I try to burn their base again, or indeed have a no attack policy with them?

I decided to burn their base again. I just couldn’t help it, the entire floor was made out of wood! If I hadn’t done it, somebody else would have for sure. The seconds after that I don’t remember very well as it was a complete chaos, but this time I made sure to light about 6 blocks around me. One of the guys managed to get to me, but I killed him. I burned the bridge which was made out of wood as well, and ran away. I don’t remember seeing any names, but I’m still not sure if I really killed all four of them.

I returned to my base safely and logged out again.

My first day

Today I connected for the first time to the Lenia server.

Upon joining I noticed a fresh and clean looking world with a guy named ‘Perefim’ digging in dirt. He greeted me and I noticed he was an admin because it was in front of his name. It looked like he was busy designing the spawn point. We said hello and I went to chop some wood.

I noticed the anti grief protection was active and Perefim told me that I had to walk at least 200 blocks from the spawn point, which was what I did.

As soon as I had gathered a bunch of wood and food, I decided it was time to make my base. I wanted to make a very stealthy base to prevent others from stealing and griefing stuff. Someone on another server taught me a base under water is one of the stealthiest bases possible, so I ended up making a nice little house with it’s entrance in the middle of a river.

A few Minecraft days later (one Minecraft day is about 20 minutes) I went out again and I started fooling around with the people around the spawn point. I killed two, and walked away with their inventories. I decided to give one guy some of his tools back. He wanted all of his stuff, so I started walking away. Unfortunately for me itt was night and I got stuck in a pool, one of the two managing to kill me there.

I left most of my good stuff at home on purpose, so I didn’t feel bad about it. I managed to return to my base without being spotted and did a lot of boring mining.

So far the first day on the Lenia Minecraft server.
